Reduce Your Anxiety with Sedation Dentistry in Airdrie

Getting nervous during dental work shouldn’t prevent you from having the smile you’ve always wanted. Airdrie sedation dentistry is a safe way to reduce your stress and fear so you feel comfortable in the dentist chair and get the dental work done you need to do to improve your smile and feel better.

We believe it’s important to create a positive experience for our patients so you are motivated to continue taking care of your teeth. Sedation dentistry is one way that we help make a visit to the dentist less stressful, but our caring and compassionate staff also aim to create an environment that makes you feel safe and at ease.

Yankee Valley Dental is all about making it easy to go to the dentist.

Sedation dentistry is not only for the ultra-anxious – you may want to consider sedation dentistry even if you are only a little nervous because it will make the appointment go more quickly and more dental work can be accomplished in one sitting. Sleep dentistry is also a good option if you have teeth sensitivity or have active gag reflexes. Sedation can be offered for any procedure, so if you are nervous or think sedation dentistry might help, simply let Dr. Parsa know during your visit.

Taking the Time to Make Your Visit to the Dentist Comfortable

We believe that knowledge and feeling like a participant in the decision making (rather than simply being told what will happen) can help someone feel more at ease. Dr. Parsa cares about your dental experience and will take the time to sit down with you and discuss the options so that you can make the dental decision together. She’ll show pictures and explain the process step-by-step so that you know what to expect. We hope that you’ll never feel rushed, and at any time you can ask a question. Of course, freezing (local anesthetic) is used in most procedures to help numb your mouth so you don’t feel any pain.

Depending on the severity of the gum disease, Dr. Parsa suggest you to seek treatment with a periodontist (a gum specialist) until the gum disease is in remission.

Of course, Dr. Parsa will also provide you with advice on how to prevent gum disease in the future, including showing you how to properly brush or floss as well as recommend antibacterial toothpastes or mouthwashes to reduce the amount of plaque in your mouth.

The best way to deal with gum disease is not to get it in the first place. Book an appointment at Yankee Valley Dental and prevent or treat your gums with Airdrie periodontal care from Dr. Parsa.
